Back to Co.Waterford where we took on three peaks of the Knockmealdowns Mountains. Our day started with the steep climb up the Sugerloaf from the Baylough carpark. There was some low laying clouds on top and with a wind that would make you stand up straight. That didn’t deter us and we went south to the highest peak The Knockmealdown (also the highest in Co.Waterford at 847m).We got some breaks in the clouds and got glimpses of the Galty’s to the North and Ballycotton to the South.

It’s a challenging hike with a few false summits before you reach the top. With a sheltered spot on the North east side we stoppped for lunch, it was on to Knockmoylan before heading back to Bay lough….
